Environmental hazards are often too great for particular countries or individuals to tackle. We have arrived at a point in time where the only way to lessen environmental problems is at an international level.

Environmental problems have reached such proportions that people feel international organizations must be set up to intervene in world affairs to resolve these problems. Whether this will resolve the problem is very unlikely as international organizations are just an extension of human behavior. That is, if human conflicts cannot be resolved at home, then they are unlikely to be resolved at the international level. Nevertheless, international organizations do attract attention to the growing problem of aims of the international community to resolve the issue of environmental pollution and support their cause, I do not believe it is the best or only way to protect the environment; in fact, it is only a small part of what is needed in a global initiative.

All world problems, whether it is environmental pollution, war, energy insufficiency, or famine, arise from the abusive behavior of all individuals. Therefore, the solution to all these problems is the need for a collective consciousness. What is meant by this is that each individual must be aware of the impact he or she has on the world and their unique part to play in this world. After all, if one is happy with his life, he will surely not endeavor to harm the environment or anyone else. His behavior will be that of a responsible individual.

Wind blows up bags higher and higher in the sky. It is a scary thought that some day the earth will turn into a huge garbage land. Wastes, if not treated properly, will make our life a living nightmare.

The environmental issue is getting worse almost every day in cities with very large population. As is often the case, city development outpaces environmental protection. People consume great amount of natural resouces and produce wastes. To effectively address such problems, cities need to spend big money. In addition, they need to call to the attention of people to become more environmentally responsible.

Many people are becoming less responsible and easily influenced by bad behaviors. “Why should I care while others don’t care?” Such idea makes some people only concern with places where they live and work. Furthermore, people sometimes even purposely litter for revenge to other people.

Although media promotes environmental awareness, good people are often snubbed as posers who try to set up a superior image in real life. Consequently, they are intimated of receiving negative comments for doing the right thing. Wrong as it is, such phenomenon is widespread especially among youngsters and people with low income and little education.

However, our society is waging a campaign against environmental pollution. People learn the harms of undegradable lunch boxes and other polluting wastes. Laws in many countries prohibit or limit excessive use of polluting bags. Companies are continuely replacing the old materials with more environmental friendly and recyclable kinds. Scientists have

developed more effective technologies in waste treatment. As time goes by, more and more people put high priority on the protection of environment for a healthier life.

To sum up, people produce huge amount of garbage and the environment is seriously polluted because of lack of financial resources, sense of responsibility, or efforts. But the world will not turn into a “throw away” society if people put in sufficient efforts to protect our environment.

Describe an occasion when you invite your family or friends to dinner

You should say:

When you invited them

Where you had the dinner at home or at the restaurant

Why you invited them

And how you felt about this dinner

What can I hold you with?

I offer you lean streets, desperate sunsets, the

moon of the jagged suburbs.

I offer you the bitterness of a man who has looked

long and long at the lonely moon.

I offer you my ancestors, my dead men, the ghosts

that living men have honoured in bronze:

my father's father killed in the frontier of

Buenos Aires, two bullets through his lungs,

bearded and dead, wrapped by his soldiers in

the hide of a cow; my mother's grandfather

--just twentyfour-- heading a charge of

three hundred men in Peru, now ghosts on

vanished horses.

I offer you whatever insight my books may hold,

whatever manliness or humour my life.

I offer you the loyalty of a man who has never

been loyal.

I offer you that kernel of myself that I have saved,

somehow --the central heart that deals not

in words, traffics not with dreams, and is

untouched by time, by joy, by adversities.

I offer you the memory of a yellow rose seen at

sunset, years before you were born.

I offer you explanations of yourself, theories about

yourself, authentic and surprising news of

yourself.

I can give you my loneliness, my darkness, the

hunger of my heart; I am trying to bribe you

with uncertainty, with danger, with defeat.

Some people think that too much money and time have been allocated in scientific research. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

P1:引入话题+亮明观点;

Scientific research is promised to identify and unravel mysteries about the existence of human beings and some urgent issues ranging from tangled complexity of the brain system to the ultimate truth about the existence of the universe. However, it is beyond dispute that there are issues that do plague human beings as a race such as poverty and illiteracy. Therefore, I am convinced that the colossal amount of time and money could definitely be applied to address more pressing problems at hand such as famine and ignorance.

Admittedly, cutting-edge innovations have tremendously transformed the way of our life. People all benefit from the advances made possible through medical research, from more effective chemotherapy, to vaccines that protect against deadly disease and to increased knowledge about nutrition and healthy lifestyles. However, there is little value if we invest too much on some researches that barely lead to new information about nature, the human body, or medicine.

Authorities’ investment should not be confined within the boundary of scientific researches solely. To be more specific, more than half of the world population are still living under the poverty line while an overwhelming amount of resources is drained to figure out how to send a spaceship to the Venus. Under such cases, what benefits the outer space would bring to a poor mother whose child starves and suffers from malnutrition? These problems will not likely be solved by the evolution of inventions and space exploration alone, but through joint efforts and financial funding from international aid agencies and charity groups.

Furthermore, money should be directly allocated to alleviate illiteracy in underdeveloped areas. It is a common sense that a more favourable intellectual support is helping to improve economic prospects. Compared with the costs totally funded by individuals, if governments account relevant obligations, individual economic pressure will be relieved to a large extent.

To sum up, the allocation of funds are to be allocated to other sectors beyond scientific researches, which contributes to the boon of the society as a whole.

可以常用过渡词,比如with regard to….as far as I’m concerned…..

The provided bar graph shows sales data of Woodland chocolate for the year 20xx. As is observed from the given data, Wachi Bar was the most sold chocolate bar in the first quarter of the year while the popularity of Woody bar increased over the time for the given year.

According to the given bar graph, from January to March around 19 million Wuzzle chocolate bars were sold in Woodland. During this period Wachi chocolate bar was the most sold chocolate which was sold more than 55 million bars. Wozic was the second most sold chocolate bar during this first quarter with more than 45 million sales volumes. The woody bar was the least sold item for this quarter with only 10 million sales. In the second quarter the sales volume for all these four chocolate bars were around 20 million. Interestingly in third quarter both Wachi and Wozic chocolate sales volume decreased to 10 million while the Wuzzle and Woody bars’ sales increased to 40 and 30 million respectively. In the final quarter, the sales volume for Wachi chocolate bar remained unchanged as it was in the third quarter while the Woody bars’ sales volume increased by 10 million compared to the previous month. In this final quarter, the Woody bar was the highest sold chocolate type and the sales volume of this bar increased throughout the year. Wachi bar and Wozic bar were sold around 20 and 35 million in the final quarter.

In summary, there was common pattern of the sales volumes of the four chocolate types for the year 20xx except that the sales amount of Woody bar increased in each quarter while this volume decreased for the Wachi bar.
